NOTE: Word on the street, or more specifically the telephone, is that Albertsons is now Lucky. Technically, Albertsons is returning to being Lucky. Wikipedia learned me that Lucky was founded in Alameda County in 1935. In 1999, Albertsons bought its parent company and by 1999, the Lucky brand had disappeared. And now its back. Albertsons has had a checkered history including wage disputes with its union workers and what Nicole called ties to Christian/anti-abortion groups. I don’t really know because I don’t shop there, but I guess Albertsons wasn’t so lucky. I promise to investigate soon.
