Save Mart Supermarkets changed the name of the Bay Area stores to Lucky since many of the Bay Area stores were originally called Lucky. Save Mart Supermarkets treats its employees very well. In late 2007, the employees received the largest across the board wage increase in Northern California grocery industry history. I visited the El Cerrito Plaza Lucky today and the store had a great selection of food. The employees were very friendly and helpful.
